The longtime owners of this 800 square foot Victorian cottage loved the idyllic setting of the house, set back on the lot with fruit trees in the front yard, and were excited to realize it’s potential. The house was reconfigured to create a combined living and dining space facing the front porch and the ceiling was opened up over the living/dining area, allowing light in from the high windows and new skylights.  The kitchen was relocated to face the new ‘great room’. A ladder accesses the loft space over the kitchen and bathroom.

The porch and front stairs, battered by time and the elements, were rebuilt. Porch and stair railings were replicated to match the originals while meeting current code.

Project completed while Project Manager at CMD Architecture.
